Dragons have announced that promising centre Tom Griffiths has committed his future to the PRO14 side after agreeing terms on a new contract.
Griffiths, 24, joined the region from Saracens in the summer of 2019 and made six appearances during his debut season at Dragons.
The Gloucester-born back – who is Welsh qualified – is currently in rehabilitation after surgery on a knee injury.
Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby, said: “Tom showed real promise during a campaign that was sadly ended prematurely by injury.
“We are now fully supporting Tom throughout his recovery as he is a player we believe will develop in our environment in the long-term.
“We all wish him well with his rehabilitation and look forward to his return in the future.”
Griffiths made his debut against Enisei-STM in the European Challenge Cup in November and impressed before injury in early February forced him to go under the knife.
He said: “I really enjoyed my first season with Dragons and the progress we made as a group so I’m pleased to sign the extension.
“It is frustrating to be ruled out with injury, but my rehabilitation is going well and I’m determined to make a successful return and repay the faith that has been put in me by the coaching team.”
