Bath have announced that Tom Dunn has agreed a contract extension, keeping the hooker at the Recreation Ground until at least 2022.
Dunn has made nearly 80 appearances in the Blue, Black and White since making his debut in 2012 and has established himself as a first team regular in the front row.
His tough-tackling displays for Bath, which included 64 tackles in the double header against Toulon in December, have seen him included in the England training squad this year.
Dunn said: “I’ve said it before, but I’m really proud to be playing for my hometown club, so to be here for another four years is really exciting.
“Last year was a breakthrough for me, and whilst injury ended my season early, it’s made me stronger as a player. This season I’ve been able to test myself against the best in Europe and in the (Aviva) Premiership, and the challenge for me now is continuing my development as a player and reaching new heights.
“Like for anyone involved in the professional game, I want to play for my country, and I believe this environment is the perfect place for me to achieve that.”
“It’s fantastic news to have a player of Dunny’s calibre committing his long-term future to the Club,” added Director of Rugby, Todd Blackadder. “It’s a real indication of where he sees Bath Rugby going, and I have no doubt that he’ll have a big part to play in that journey over the next few years.
“He’s a physical player with that real edge about him, which are exactly the traits you look for in a hooker. The best thing is that we haven’t seen the best of him yet, which is really exciting for everyone associated with the Bath Rugby. Dunny is also knocking on the door for international honours, and I’m sure it won’t be long before he’s pulling on the England shirt.”
