Pumas leave out Facundo Isa and Santiago Cordero

Argentina head coach Mario Ledesma has left the European-based Facundo Isa and Santiago Cordero out of his 31-man World Cup squad which will head to Japan.

In particular, Cordero has enjoyed an outstanding campaign for Exeter Chiefs in the English Premiership, but Ramiro Moyano, Bautista Delguy and Santiago Carreras have been preferred.

There are three overseas players included in Juan Figallo, Nicolas Sanchez and Benjamin Urdapilleta, while captain Pablo Matera will join Stade Francais after the World Cup, but most of the squad come from the Jaguares.

Experienced back-rower Juan Manuel Leguizamon is selected ahead of Isa, despite not regularly featuring in Super Rugby, and is set to appear in his fourth World Cup.

After making the semi-finals in 2007 and 2015, the Pumas will look to repeat that feat, but they have a tough group which includes England, France, Tonga and the USA.
