Sale Sharks have announced that Scotland international back-row Josh Strauss will leave the Premiership club with immediate effect.
Strauss, who is in the Scotland World Cup training squad, and Sale Sharks have come to a mutual agreement so that he can be released from his contract two years into a three-year deal with the club. This has allowed him to sign for South African Super Rugby franchise the Bulls.
The 32-year-old joined Sale Sharks in the summer of 2017 after signing from Scottish PRO14 side Glasgow Warriors. The South African born number eight made 46 appearances in all competitions during his time at the club, scoring five tries in total.
Sale Sharks said they would like to wish Strauss and his family all the best for the future and would like to thank the player for his fantastic contribution to the club.
Sale Sharks Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: “I would like to thank Josh for his endeavours over the last two years with the club, we wish him every success for the future, and good luck at the World Cup with Scotland in September.
“I am sure he will be a huge success at his new club, and he is welcome back to Manchester anytime.”
