Saracens centre Alex Lozowski admitted he “lost the plot” when he scored in their impressive 57-33 Premiership semi-final win over Wasps.
In a thrilling game at Allianz Park, the England international claimed the game’s first try as Saracens progressed to a final with Exeter.
The 90-point contest saw Saracens come out on top in a performance inspired by Mako Vunipola and Owen Farrell, with Lozowski also in form.
“It was nice to score in front of our home crowd,” he told Sarries TV.
“I lost the plot a bit when I scored which is a bit embarrassing! It was nice to go over in a win.
“It was a tough game. Wasps were their usual selves, very threatening on the ball and caused us some problems.
“We have things to work on defensively for next week but overall we’re really happy.
“The attack is going really well. We’re causing teams problems, finding space, we’re really physical and direct which is really good.
“We’ll enjoy the win but get back to training Monday and look forward to the final.”
Meanwhile, loosehead prop Vunipola believes his side’s accuracy with ball in hand helped them set up a mouth-watering final against Exeter.
He told Sarries TV: “We’re obviously very happy to beat a side like Wasps; it was tough going but we’re very happy with the result.
“We’ve talked about accuracy and we got a few things right in attack, we were very accurate in the 22 and fairs dos to the boys for finishing it off.
“There are things to work on; we have to look at ourselves as we let in 33 points. We have to give props to Wasps, they attacked very well but we’ve also got to look at ourselves.
“The beauty of the game is we now have another match to play and we’re excited by that but for now we’re just elated with the win.”
